Phyl Renninger

Oil · watercolor

Phyllis Rogers Renninger was born in April 1952 in the town of Douglassville, Pennsylvania, northwest of Philadelphia. She began her art interest in elementary school, being influenced by a creative and dynamic art teacher. In college, she majored in Elementary Education, taught for 16 years, obtained her master's in educational leadership, moved into school and college administration, and received her Ph.D. in Higher Education.

Phyl has been married for 56 years to her high school sweetheart, Jim, a retired U.S. Navy S-3 pilot. They settled in Orange Park, Florida in 1985 and have four children and eight grandchildren. Phyl discovered the Art Guild of Orange Park shortly after her retirement in 2015 and has served on the board as membership chair, community service chair, vice president, and currently president. Phyl has an art studio where she dabbles in oil painting, pen and ink, and watercolors.

"I find joy in painting. It enables me to capture happy memories and express the beauty I see in life."
