Website / Social: Facebook Nicholas Armento Art

Nicholas grew up in rural Connecticut. When his 3rd grade teacher discovered he was color blind, his mother taught him how colors blend — yellow and blue for green grass, red and blue for purple flowers — lessons that sparked his early fascination with mixing pigments to match the images in his imagination. He studied art throughout high school and attended Paier College of Art in Connecticut. He travelled extensively for many years before retiring in 2010 and moving to Florida with his wife in 2014.

The vibrant Florida landscape inspired him to explore mixed media until he found his true passion in acrylics. He began painting professionally in 2025. Nicholas' artistic experience spans charcoal, pastels, watercolor, and oils, but he favors acrylics for their quick-drying qualities, which complement his energetic painting style. His color blindness shapes a distinctive visual language — an interpretation of hues and tones that invites viewers to see the world through his eyes.
