Kathy Plante

Assemblage · murals, oil, acrylic

Website / Social: plante_katherine

Growing up in Jacksonville, Kathy cannot remember a time when she did not strive to be creative. It was not until she studied art at FSU that she was able to receive formal art training. While husband Michael was working on his graduate degree at Tulane, she worked as a fashion illustrator at DH Holmes in New Orleans.

Michael's Navy career and being a stay-at-home mom did not stop Kathy from adding new artistic skills to her 'toolbox': murals, cake decorating, stained glass, and oil and acrylic painting. Assemblage art has proven to be the perfect synthesis of the skills developed over her life, and assemblage and murals are the top contenders for her attention now. The late Erma Bombeck most accurately expressed Kathy's feelings when she wrote that when she stood before her Creator, she wanted to be able to say that she used up every bit of talent with which He had blessed her.
