Deborah Broach Ferro

My love for art started at the age of eight. In the 70's my passion for art using a variety of mediums became more than a hobby and my work was sold in a variety of stores. In the 90's I went on to study Photography at UNF and portraits became my new artistic medium. I started teaching professional photographers Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop. In 2006 at the United Nations in New York City I was given "The Outstanding Leadership and Dedication to Professional Photography" award from the International Photographic Council.

I would turn photographs into digital paintings only to realize that it lacked the texture, richness and life that an oil painting exhibits, so I put down my camera and picked back up my paintbrush! I prefer to paint in oil and watercolor and my work includes still life, landscapes and commissioned portraits in oil. I served as President of the Art Guild of Orange Park for 2 years and I am a Florida Ambassador for the Portrait Society of America.
